What do you mean, "I wanted to be wild!" We were "BornTo Be Wild!"

Who else remembers our Class of 1969 stunts? The authorities would ask, "Is that your Senior Stunt?" We'd answer, "No." And the stunts continued...

The Volkswagon put of the auditorium stage?

The alarm clocks locked in Senior lockers? The custodian had to bolt-cut padlocks.

The teacher chained in the Library when the were there of an early Teacher's meeting? They had to call a lccksmith to cut the chains.

The pick-up that was reassembled in the band hall over a weekend?

The chickens that were released in the Academic Building over a weekend? Our senior class had to pay the custodian to clean up the mess.

Were there others that I forgot?

I participated in none of these stunts. My Dad was strict and the local book store owner. Who remembers Sander's Bookstore?

I am told that i forgot one senior stunt. on this page.

The end of the year senior stunt when the class walked out of class together at 2:00 PM. The walkouts walked over to Abilene Hight, stood in a line outside the front of the building and shouted, "Red Rover, Red Rover, Let Abilene High come over." Mr. Anthony called it "mass hysteria". Too many students participated, too many of the "good" students included. He wasn't sure how to punish the whole class, so the class got away with it.

The class of 1970 couldn't top us. They settled for locking themselves in the gym with a band for their senior stunt.
