Did not see much of Steve after he left A&M and went back home to work for the family business. I know that he was injured in a motorcycle accident and laid in a coma for a long time. Our son, Chance, played on the McMurry golf team with his son in 2001 and 2002. Steve's little brother Lee is playing the part of "Big Brother" for Steve. Chance sees Lee at various golf tournaments and he is doing fine.

Steve was a very good friend of my boyfriend Thurston Thornton and his friend Jack McMinn. They all made a lot of long trips on their Harleys together. Steve was a great guy. He was on his way to Abilene the day of his accident to go with me and Thurston (we were going to be racing) to San Antonio to the All Harley Drags.. Unfortunately, he never made it. It was a beautiful day. No one really knows what happened. We got a phone call the next morning from Jack telling us about Steve. This happened about 6 years ago and Steve was in a coma abot a year before he passed away. Thurston and Jack went to see Steve not long after that. He has been greatly missed by me and his two very dear friends.
