Reba Joy Field

Reba Field, 62, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at an Abilene medical center.

The daughter of Betty (Lee) and Lowell Odell Field, she was born on June 15, 1951 in Rotan, Texas. Most of her life was spent in Abilene where she graduated from Cooper High School in 1969. She attended Texas Womens University in Denton, Texas for 3-1/2 years. In 2003, she retired from Abilene Regional Medical Center where she was a respiratory therapist for 28 years. Reba was a member of Oldham Lane Church of Christ in Abilene.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Reba is survived by her brother, Glenn Field and wife Dianne of Abilene; sister, Carolyn Haldren of Abilene; nieces, Kimberly Scarborough, Michelle Haldren and Lauren Field; nephew, Matt Field and wife Macy; great-nieces, Ella Scarborough and Kensleigh Field; and great-nephews, Evan Scarborough and Ethan Scarborough.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Greg Hardegree officiating. Interment will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 31, at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Field, Blake Dozier, Chad Dozier, Evan Scarborough and Craig Martin.

Reba appreciated the excellent care she received over the years at the Southside Dialysis Center. She thought of the employees as her second family.
