Mike Kilpatrick passed away on October 28, 2000 at age 49, the result of heart problems. He lived in Abilene.

Mike is survived by two daughters, two grandchildren, with another due in March 2009, two sisters including Susan Kilpatrick, a teacher at Lee Elementary.

Mike was a wonderful family man, very active in his community. He became an Eagle Scout in 1963. He was an archery expert, and a memorial shoot is held annually in his honor by the Texas Archery Association.
