Richard Pickett (Pick) was my best friend through Madison Junior High, Cooper High, and into college at what was then North Texas State University. During his high school years, he played trombone in the band and was the major pianist in the musical band Cougar Brass. He was an accomplished musician, graduating with a degree in Composition in 1973.
