Pete Baldwin reports on 6/18/2015 that:
"I found a Tommy Mize that died on June 15, 1972, in a car accident. He is buried in Merkel and had been in the Navy. I am not 100% sure but everything seems to point to it being him. I don't remember him but if someone knew that he served in the Navy, I would be more comfortable with the submission."

Tommy was a great friend, and lived every moment of his short life. We enjoyed many rides in his Impala ragtop !!One of the good ones.

I believe it was 1968 when Tommy wrapped his great Impala Convertible around a telephone pole on Highway 80. He loved his car, his open air, his freedom, and his life. I am reminded of him when I watch Paul Neuman in Cool Hand Luke (or most any other of his movies). His sister, Merry, was a junior our senior year, but I've lost all contact with her.
