Hard to believe it's been 40 years! Whenever I think of Abilene, I always remember driving around Mack's and their cookies with pink icing and the parties at Phantom Lake.
I almost flunked bookkeeping in high school and one of my first jobs was a bookkeeper for two companies in Ft. Worth for 8 years. Pretty ironic. I also remember freezing in the winter because we could not wear pants to school. I also was sent home numerous times because my dresses were too short. There was always a teacher around each corner to measure how short my dresses were.
